Not Just Cats and Dogs – Hebrew is Your New Love!
Did you know this one? The Hebrew word for "dog" is "kelev" (כֶּלֶב). The amazing thing is that the word "kelev" is comprised of two other words: "Kulo" which means "all" and "lev" which means heart. That of course tracks – a dog is all heart!
There's more! Cat in Hebrew is "Chatul" (חָתוּל). It comes from the root verb "Lechatel", which means to cover, and that because after cats use their own version of a bathroom – they cover up the mess! Have you noticed it before?
Hebrew is truly wonderful – there's meaning and history behind each and every word. Would you like to learn more about it? This is the opportunity for you (and your pet, too!) to join us at Rosen School of Hebrew and expose yourself to the profound and special world of Hebrew!
