Israel is blooming – let’s celebrate!
כַּלָּנִיוֹת (kalaniot) - anemones are painting the south red. They are very rare and unique and therefore Israelis greatly respect them, and have made the anemone a protected flower - perach mugan (פֶּרַח מוּגָן). By law it is forbidden to pick them! The anemone is part of Israeli folklore: it is actually considered Israel’s National flower and was chosen as Israel’s favorite flower in a survey of The Society for the Protection of Nature in Israel, in 2013.
The red south, darom adom (דָּרוֹם אָדוֹם), becomes a huge tourist attraction and brings thousands of people to see this miracle blooming and the beautiful green fields, sadot (שָׂדוֹת), of the south. To learn more about Israeli culture and customs, you need to speak its language. Especially for the opening of the Israeli Anemone season, and only for 2 days, we are offering a 20% discount on tuition for our live online courses.
